Thinking about escaping for the weekend?! Do it, there is so much happening in Melbs right now, so grab a gal pal or two and explore! Lulu and I did, so should you!
EXPLORE
If you can, I highly recommend going to the Sugar Republic. You can fully relive your childhood and play in a life size pink, Willy Wonka factory. So many laughs, swing in a fairy floss room, jump out of a giant birthday cake, eat Wizz Fizz and ice cream. The ball pit was the best! Getting that slow motion video was classic. Tickets are $40, all the goodies are included and you can take some killer photos! Get there quick because it's only open until the 17 August.
If you haven't already stayed at one of the Ovolo Hotel's, you have to stay Ovolo Laneways! It's in the perfect location, close to bars, restaurants in the CBD. The rooms are super bright; designed and inspired by the laneways and street art that Melbourne is know for. Happy hour is all you can drink and lolly buffet is all yours to enjoy as you walk in and out of reception. Oh and the freebies!! They so generous, the 'Loot bag' saved me on a number of occasions. Needing a snack?! It had me covered, from popcorn to fancy chocolate to soothing my dry lips - with lip balm. The LOOT bag had it all and for free! Love this place, book your next stay here.
EAT
Just a five minute walk from the Ovolo is a super cool and tasty restaurant ‘Supernormal’. Modern pan-Asian cuisine is served here. What is that exactly? Well, is a combination of their asian eating experiences, influenced by favourites cuisines and restaurants of Tokyo, Shanghai, Seoul and Hong Kong. It was fun to eat there, the food came undone, meaning: you built your food with the ingredients provided. If you want more meat, that's up to you - add it. If you want more sauce, this is up to you. You don’t build all the dishes, just some of them. Can you imagine building a dumpling?! Which were to die for and they were the vegetarian ones.
